Terms of use

What this service is, the rules for accounts, the community, Movi and the API, and the limits of what can be promised about it.

The service

TempMV is a free service that runs emulated x86 virtual machines inside your browser, with a Linux course, learning tools, an AI assistant, a public API and an optional community. Booting machines does not require an account; some features need a free one. It is provided as-is, with no guarantee of availability, correctness or fitness for any particular purpose. Features may change, be limited or be discontinued at any time, and the site is funded by ads on reading pages and by sponsors.

Machines are temporary

Virtual machines exist only in the page's memory and are destroyed when you reload or close the tab. This is the intended behaviour, not a fault. With an account, a machine's recipe (its settings and image references) can be kept, but never its memory, and its disk contents only on a persistent disk (below). Anything else you want to keep must be exported deliberately. No responsibility is accepted for work lost to a closed tab.

Persistent disks

  • Accounts can create up to 3 persistent disks with 5 GB in total, split as you like. These limits are enforced by the server and may change.
  • Disks are temporary storage, not a backup service: each one is deleted a set time after it is created (30 minutes by default, shown on its page), and it can be extended only once, near the end. Deleted disks cannot be recovered. Download anything you want to keep.
  • No guarantee is given that a disk will be available, intact or saved at any given moment (saving happens from your browser and can fail if the tab closes first).
  • You are responsible for what you store on your disks. You must not use them to store or distribute illegal content, malware aimed at others, material that infringes someone else's rights, or personal data of other people without a legal basis. Disks that break these terms may be deleted without notice and the account suspended.

Guest software and its licences

The operating systems in the catalog are free and open-source software, published by their own projects under their own licences. Each catalog entry names its licence and links to the upstream project. Those licences govern your use of that software, not these terms. Nothing here is affiliated with or endorsed by those projects.

Images you provide

You may load your own disk images. They are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded. You are responsible for holding the rights to any image you use, and you must not use this site to run software you are not licensed to run.

Accounts

  • You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. One account per person; give a real email address you control.
  • Keep your password and any two-step verification device safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us at once if you think it has been compromised.
  • Your username and display name must not impersonate anyone or be offensive. We may change or reclaim a username that breaks these terms.
  • You can delete your account at any time from your account page. What is erased and what is kept is described in the privacy policy.

Your content and community rules

You keep the rights to what you post (forum threads and replies, showcase entries, screenshots, machine recipes, messages, group content). You give TempMV a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce and display it within the service for as long as it is published there, and in anonymised form afterwards as described in the privacy policy. Public content can be seen by anyone, including people without an account.

Do not post or send anything that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, harasses, threatens or discriminates, is sexually explicit, is spam or advertising nobody asked for, contains malware or exploits aimed at real systems, or discloses other people's personal data without their permission. Do not create accounts or content automatically, manipulate XP or leaderboards, or try to access data that isn't yours.

You can report content with the report buttons or by writing to support@s4nchzz.com. Administrators may remove content, and suspend, deactivate or ban accounts that break these terms or the law, usually with a stated reason. If you think a decision is wrong, write to us and we will review it.

Groups

Group owners and the members they give permissions to manage their group: who joins, roles, invitations, shared machines and networks, and the group chat. They are responsible for running it within these terms. Everything shared in a group is visible to its members. Site administrators can see groups for moderation.

Movi, the AI assistant

  • Movi's answers are generated automatically by a language model (provided by Groq, Inc.). They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check commands and explanations before relying on them, especially before running them on a real system. Nothing Movi says is professional advice.
  • Movi only changes your machines, networks or groups after you confirm the action, and you are responsible for confirming it.
  • Do not send Movi passwords, keys, sensitive personal data or other people's personal data. Do not use it to produce illegal or harmful content, to attack systems, or to get around its limits.
  • Usage is limited (currently 3 messages without an account; with an account, 300 requests a day and 30 messages per chat). Limits may change, and Movi may be unavailable when the provider is busy.

Public API

  • The API lets you read and manage your own data with personal access tokens. Treat a token like a password: anyone who has it can act with the scopes you gave it, and you are responsible for requests made with your tokens. Revoke a token immediately if it leaks.
  • Limits apply: 120 requests per minute per token, up to 20 active tokens per account and 10 new tokens per hour. Do not try to get around them, overload the service, or use the API to collect other people's data.
  • The API is provided as-is and may change or be withdrawn. We may revoke tokens or block access that breaks these terms or threatens the service.

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to break the law, to attack other systems (including through a machine's network access), or to attempt to circumvent the technical limits of the emulator, the guest limits or the service. The emulator is a sandbox inside your own browser; it is not a security boundary you should rely on for running untrusted code.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or when required by law, and may stop offering the service as a whole; where reasonable we will tell you in advance so you can download your data.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for any damage arising from use of this site, including lost machines, disks or data, answers from Movi, or content posted by other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and signed-in users are told in the app. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version; if you don't, you can delete your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory rules of their country of residence and may go to the courts of their place of residence.
